Sundays and Ciclovía: The Calm Between the Storms
Sundays are something that Bogota does really REALLY well. I love Sunday in Bogota. I live close to 7th Avenue, near the mountains, and this is closed to traffic on Sundays and bank holidays. This means a brief escape from the noise and pollution, and opens the road for walkers, cyclists, skaters and skateboarders:
From where we live, we can either walk north towards the Museo del Chico, Parque de la 93 or Usaquén market and Santa Barbara shopping mall:

Usaquén is a barrio with character, and is lovely to walk around on a Sunday.
Another option is to head south down Avenue 7 towards the Centre and visit a museum or walk around the trendy and quaint neighbourhood of La Macarena, before talking a stroll through the Parque Nacional:

Whichever route you decide to take, I highly recommend venturing out onto the Ciclovía on a Sunday and enjoying the ‘calm between the storms’.
